In the meantime, chef Can Räty will be teaching Finnish pastry classes at Test Kitchen, here are the schedule!

Chef Eric Räty and his wife Can Räty, is celebrating delicious handmade Finnish pastries and coffee at Test Kitchen!

At a time when the city needs warmth and hospitality more than ever, Mr. & Mrs. Marshmallow is the perfect event to allow people to indulge in sweet treats, either by pre-ordering and enjoying at home, or by joining us in person at Test Kitchen.

Eric and Can will celebrate their “love, passion and inspiration” for the finest patisserie creations with a menu of sweet and savoury creations fresh out of the oven, such as the Finnish classic Karelian Pie w/ Egg Butter and homemade Cookies- where everything is home-made and bake fresh every weekend morning.

    About Chef Eric & Can Råty

    Can Räty started her pastry career in Japan, and for 6 years straight until Eric and Can got married and after their first child was born she put a pause in pastry.

    However her passion never stopped and she had always had a goal to combine experiences from Japan and their time spent at Finland to deliver simple but refined pastries to everyone.  Quiet and humble, both she and Eric decides to fire up that dream together and launch a Finnish pastry shop “Mr. & Mrs. Marshmallow”, now a popup shop for the coming months in Hong Kong at Test Kitchen.

     

    As for Eric Räty, he hailed from the pristine natural environment of Finland, his cuisine represents refined simplicity, purity of craft and vibrant innovation that matches perfectly with Arbor’s enchanting, nature-rich concept; both in savoury and sweet form.

    A rising star in fine dining, Eric’s gastronomic journey officially began in 2005 at Perho Culinary School in Helsinki, Finland.  Displaying genuine passion for his craft, he started his career at Restaurant Chez Dominique (2 Michelin stars), and for four years straight where Eric credits as the most influential years of his career where he departed as the restaurant’s Chef de Partie in 2010 and accepted a Pastry Cook position at the 3 Michelin-starred Restaurant Aqua in Ritz Carlton Wolfsburg.

    During a spectacular two-and-a-half years, Eric earned the title of Pastry Chef at Restaurant Aqua before accepting a golden opportunity to return to Chez Dominique as the restaurant’s Head Chef.   His next adventure in 2014, led him to Chef Gray Kunz at Café Gray Deluxe in The Upper House Hong Kong, and now as Chef de Cuisine at Arbor where they recently was awarded 2 Michelin stars.

    Test Kitchen is a pop-up dining movement in Hong Kong. Situated in Sai Ying Pun, the menus are ever changing to showcase up-and-coming chefs from across the world. Whether diners come alone, in pairs, or in groups, they all come to share their passion and love for food. #testkitchenhk
